COVID-19 & Salon Reopening:

What is Chatters doing to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and is it still safe for me to get my hair service done in-salon?

In response to recent provincial requirements, some of our Salons are closed. CLICK HERE to check the status of your local salon. We will be taking extensive safety protocols for our in-salon services. 

Updated safety protocol:

  • Services by appointment only, we will not be taking walk in appointments at this time.
  • Limited Salon Services– hair services will only be offered at this time. Click here for a list of the hair services we offer
  • Pre-visit consultation – all appointment details will be discussed on a phone call with our staff before your in-salon appointment
  • Hand sanitization provided for all guests
  • Disposable masks for employees and guests
  • Hand washing between every guest
  • Regular cleaning & sanitization of retail & salon area
  • Closure of salon waiting area, therefore please arrive on-time, not early, for your appointment
  • Limited number of guests to adhere to physical distancing (2m/6ft)

Updated Salon Service Details:

  • All employees are required to be in proper PPE including mask, apron and gloves
  • Station & sink disinfecting between each guest
  • Fresh cape provided for each guest
  • All tools are disinfected and sanitized between every guest
  • Hand washing between each guest
  • Stylists will apply a clean, dry towel to all guests
  • New disposable gloves are used for each guest
  • Stylists will ensure they have a clean workstation ready before every guest & that they practice proper sanitization

We will continue to monitor the progress of the situation and update the plan for reopening provincially based on the guidelines provided by the Government of Canada. 

What do I do if my appointment was cancelled due to COVID-19? 

We’ll help you get any services you may have had scheduled re-booked upon salon reopening. Contact the Chatters Hair Salon or stylist you booked with previously and we will help to re-book your appointments.  

Why is my online order taking so long to be delivered to me?

Please understand that postal services are experiencing much higher than normal demand across the country due to COVID-19 and therefore delivery delays are to be expected. We are working as safely and efficiently as possible alongside our shipping providers to make sure your order is delivered safely and as fast as possible amidst this pandemic. Your order is out of our hands as soon as it leaves our warehouse but you will be notified with tracking information when your order ships so you can know where it is throughout transit.

Why should you buy a ceramic flat iron?

A ceramic flat iron produces negative ions which neutralize the charge, closing the hair follicle and smoothing the hair shaft. This will straighten, smooth and tame frizzy or unmanageable hair while creating shine for long-lasting results.

I can't find my favorite product anymore, can you help me?

If you cannot find your favorite product, feel free to email shop@chatters.ca and we will try our best to find that product you are looking for.

 

SERVICES

How can I find out how much it will cost to get my hair colored and/or cut?

Pricing on hair services will vary slightly depending on the geographic location. Please contact the Chatters salon in your area for pricing inquiries.

We can't give a quote for color or chemical services over the phone because there are so many factors that go into determining a price. Only a stylist has the expertise to offer you this information. We do offer free consultations and prefer to offer a quote for color and chemical services based on an in-person consultation.

Do I need to book ahead or do you accept walk-ins?

Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are also accepted as per availability.

I coloured my hair at home and don’t like the result. What should I do?

Come in to any Chatters Salon and ask for a consultation to see what our stylists can do to help you feel great about your hair.

What is the difference between a balayage and an ombre and highlights?

Highlights and lowlights are used to add colour dimension starting from the root to tip. You may have heard the term “streaks” back in the 90’s.

An ombre is used to add dimension by seamlessly melting one colour at your root to another colour at the tip. There is no harsh line where one colour starts and another one ends. The colours flow into each other. The ombre technique has one solid colour at the roots, and a different solid colour on the ends.

Balayage is a free-hand technique used by your stylist to give your hair dimension, usually somewhere in the middle of an ombre and highlights. Where highlights will show distinctive streaks of different colours from roots to tips, and ombre shows a solid colour at the roots, and a different colour at the tips, balayage takes these two techniques and marries them together. You will still have one solid colour at your roots, but the free-hand technique will place varying levels of highlights at different heights in your hair. The highlights get blended seamlessly into the root colour of the hair. In some sections, the root colour will be the same all the way down to the tips of the hair.

What is included in the price of a haircut and it is different if I just get a trim?

With every haircut at a Chatters Salon, you will be offered a wash, scalp massage, cut, blow dry and style. You may choose to decline any of the services included, but the price will remain the same. A trim or a dramatic cut do not have a different price because the same precision is required for a trim as it is for a new style cut.

Why are there different levels of stylists and why are their prices different?

We employ stylists of all levels at our salons. From Apprentices to Elite Stylist, your cost for services will reflect the level of experience your stylist has - with a senior stylist charging more than an apprentice.

How can I book my appointment?

You can book your salon appointment online, over the phone, or in person at your  local  Chatters Salon.

How many times a week should I wash my hair?

While everyone’s hair is different, you should find out what works best for you by starting with every 2-4 days and increasing or decreasing washes from there. The more time you put between your washes, the longer your color will last, too!

How many weeks can you go between haircuts?

It is recommended to trim your hair once every 6-8 weeks.

 

ONLINE SHOPPING

How can I cancel or change my order?

Orders cannot be adjusted with additional or different items after they have been placed. If you made a mistake with your order, email shop@chatters.ca or call 1-877-820-9365 to have it cancelled so you can re-order. If you have received a shipping notification, it is too late to make any changes to your order - including cancellation.

Why does my billing address have to match my credit card’s registered address to process an order?

Our security systems and fraud analysis programs are set up to only approve orders that have the same billing address and registered address as the credit card that was used. This means, if your order has different billing information than what matches your credit card’s statements, it will not be approved and your order will not be processed.

Can I return an online order paid through Klarna or PayPal?

Yes, these orders can be returned through our online store only. Online orders paid for with Klarna & Paypal are not eligible for return in any of our Chatters Hair Salon locations. Klarna & Paypal options are not available in our hair salons. 

Are the prices for services available online?

During the online booking process, you will be given an estimate for your service(s) chosen. This is the only place that estimates are available online.

Why are all of your prices “starting at”?

Since everyone’s hair is different - the process by which we help you reach your goal is different too. The starting price can go up if the stylist is more experienced, needs to use more product, takes more time, or uses a more specialized technique.

 

GENERAL

Can I return a product?

Chatters guarantees guest satisfaction on the products and hair tools we sell.

All personal Items (such as combs/brushes, nail products & polishes, cosmetics, hair accessories, hair extensions and opened Home Hair Colour items) and Gift Cards are considered final sale items and are not eligible for returns or exchanges. What is Green Circle and why is there is a $2.00 charge in salon on services?
